Kamalan Getaways

Getaway to Jaipur

Popularly known as the ‘Pink City’ for the signature colour of its old city edifices, Jaipur offers a perfect break from the din of the nation’s capital. A few hours out of Delhi, it presents you with a palate of experiences unlike any other place. With its history, culture and its sheer royal legacy, Jaipur lends itself to the whims of the adventure seeker just as much as to the leisure seeker.

The whims of time have caused the city’s glorious art and culture to bloom under the magnificent backdrop of grand sandstone forts and vibrant palaces. A central repository for the region’s wonderful crafts, Jaipur is famous for its gems and jewelry, enamel – and brassware, blue pottery, embroidered leather footwear, rugs, tie-and-dye cotton fabrics, hand-blocked prints, fine Kota doria saris, and ready-made linens and home furnishings. See the pink city at its rosiest from Nahargarh Fort (or “Tiger Fort”) when the sun sinks behind the Aravalli Hills. Then – as night falls – watch the city skyline turn into the twinkling jewels for which it is famed. Purpose built to protect Amber, the view from here is always a winner, especially during the festival of Diwali in November, when firecrackers explode above the city, it’s one you will never forget.

Kamalan Getaways are brief thematic sojourns into the inner reaches of India. They can be short weekend travel programs out of large cities like Delhi and Bangalore. Painting an intricate picture of India and its nuances, Getaways give you the opportunity for a fascinating cultural immersion that you wouldn’t normally get to be a part of – all, over a weekend or a little longer.

  1. What an amazing time we had with Kamalan in Jaipur.
To celebrate our 5th wedding Anniversary we wanted to escape Delhi for a Romantic weekend getaway to Jaipur.
A friend of ours had traveled with Kamalan as his travel planner and had great things to say about their luxury travel service, so we just had to plan our trip with them.
Skipping through all the other sites that offer rajasthan tourism and jaipur packages, Kamalan’s Jaipur getaway was just what we were looking for our romantic vacation while also being able to visit the best tourist places in Rajasthan.
As for Hotels in Jaipur, we stayed at the luxurious Hilton where Kamalan perfectly arranged a rooftop dinner overlooking brightly lit Jal Mahal Lake with the majestic Aravalli range on the other side. Had a scrumptious 4 course meal with a contemporary mix of Rajasthani flavors infused with flavors of other Indian food. Jaipur’s weather was also our best friend that night.
To relive my college years, I requested Kamalan to arrange a bike, which they did with no problem, a Royal Enfield 500CC that too.
While we rode around the Pink city for the next few days we saw many famous places in Jaipur, Isal Lat also known as Swargasuli Tower, Hawa Mahal, Old Legislative Assembly which is locally known as Vidhansabha, Jal Mahal lake and fort, City Palace Jaipur,
Jantar Mantar, Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort.
The Indian Travel craftsman really made it special for us by arranging a brilliant sun-set view, while atop Nahargarh Fort, overlooking the entire western part of the city.
We also took an elephant ride to Amer fort in the morning and Camel ride in front of Jal Mahal Lake and Fort. At night we witnessed the Amer Fort Sound and Light show while having a lavish candle lit dinner. Kamalan suggested a tour guide at a few of these historic places to give us an in depth experience, which really made visiting the touristy places quite a learning experience.

On our last day in the Pink City we in the old city, we went shopping for bangles, jootis (traditional shoes) and some clothes and tried local snacks and rajasthani cuisine at Chokhi Dhani. Kamalan travel advisors arranged a hot air balloon ride over the forts, mountains, lakes and the old city of Jaipur which felt really adventurous.
If you are looking for the perfect weekend trip or generally looking for tourist places to visit in North India, I would highly suggest a Jaipur tour package. Truly one of the most beautiful places in India and for an unmatched travel experience travel with Kamalan as your vacation planner.
